Social Events

 

Alongside the formal programme we look forward to relaxing and having fun with two fantastic social events starting at 6pm on Wednesday 7th July.  Each of our super socials will be hosted in Zoom and you can find full details below. We hope to bump into you on the dancefloor or at the bar.

 

The R&D Ceilidh!

Wednesday 7th July - 1800

Are you ready to highland fling? Don’t worry, no previous experience is required - our experts from the Robertson school of dance will walk you through the steps of an independent Scottish dance. The Ceilidh is often the highlight of any conference hosted in Glasgow and although we may be online, R&D 2021 is no exception.  So put on your dancing shoes, let your hair down and dance like no-one’s watching!

Virtual Conference Introduction

Strathclyde Cocktails with Macallan

Wednesday 7th July - 1830

Join us in creating (and drinking!) a delicious Scottish cocktail.  Aaron Masonde, The Macallan brand ambassador will host a cocktail session, showcasing a bespoke cocktail devised especially for the R&D Management Conference, “The Strathclyde Highball”.

Ingredients list below if you want to purchase ahead of time and follow along on the night:

  • 35ml Macallan 12yr Double Cask (however any whisky you have in the house would be ok!)
  • 15ml Elderflower Cordial
  • 15ml Coconut water
  • 120ml Fevertree elderflower tonic (Fevertree works well but could be another brand)
  • Cubed ice and a highball glass (rocks glass is fine too depending what people have at home)
  • Cocktail shaker, large jam jar, or anything else to hand with a lid on it!

Zen Room

 

Need some time out? Join our Zen Room where  you can browse videos and relax with some Qi Gong, Meditation or Yoga. It’s open right through both days so please do take advantage.
